Light Rail And Exploding Pipes Charlotte's water main leak summer drama appears to have concluded with the repair of a 54-inch main under Providence Road. A gasket failure on the line has been identified by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities as the cause of that leak. The loss of that main is suspected of inducing multiple other water main failures across South Charlotte, including three on one day last week.
